DTM – Paffett with ease at Brands Hatch

Gary Paffett was not really worried at Brands Hatch and the Briton was able to get a second victory for Mercedes. The local driver quickly created a short lead over the BMW M3 DTM by Bruno Spengler, last winner at the Lausitzring. The Canadian was even threatened by Mike Rockenfeller's Audi A5 DTM after suffering a slight contact which damaged his splitter. Mike Rockenfeller must be satisfied with the last step of the podium but the German can be satisfied with offering the first podium of the season to the ring manufacturer.

Martin Tomczyk (BMW), who won last year before winning the title, ranks fourth after moving up the ranks in the peloton. This attack was not beneficial for Adrien Tambay (Audi), who had made a superb start by taking fifth place before falling in the standings after being pushed by the German. The Frenchman still missed the points by finishing in 12th place. Mattias Ekström (Audi) completes the top five ahead of Christian Vietoris (Mercedes) who made a very poor start from the front row.
