Mike Rockenfeller will begin his sixth season in DTM this weekend in Hockenheim. This year, the winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans 2010 made the German Touring Car Championship its priority, before theEndurance. After winning his first victory last year, the native of Neuwied wants to play for the title this year. And for that, he has got off to a good start on Sunday. He could easily see himself climbing to the highest step of the podium. Achievable, especially since he showed himself to be the fastest Audi driver during tests carried out on the same Hockenheim track.
“The interest generated by this new DTM season is enormous, and for many reasons, underlines Mike Rockenfeller. Obviously, the first question is: Where will we stand relative to the competition. Personally, I feel good behind the wheel of the new Audi A5 DTM, and I was delighted by the tests. I am motivated and excited to see where we are. I would love to win the opening round of the season.”
