DTM – Timo Scheider in favor of the new meeting format

Timo Scheider is delighted with the new format adopted by the DTM who will see each meeting host two races of the German Touring Car Championship. The veteran of the discipline, crowned twice in 2008 and 2009, is well placed to comment on this new development since he has been competing in DTM for around fifteen years.

“I think it’s very positive. I was one of those who strongly supported this change”, commented the 36-year-old Audi driver. “I’m a driver and I want to ride as much as possible. We can also offer more action for DTM spectators and have the chance to score points twice in one weekend. It will be easier to recover after a retirement with this 18-race format. »

Timo Scheider finished in 10th place in the Championship last year, taking a podium at Lausitzring. The season will begin on May 2 and 3 in Hockenheim (Germany).
