Alexandre Prémat maintains confidence

Alexandre Prémat had a fantastic start during the Hockenheim race but, unfortunately, fate decided that the Frenchman would not score points for the opening round of the DTM 2010. Prémat, like all Audi drivers, suffered due to excessive wear of his tires.

« It was a great race, comments the Frenchman. Unfortunately, I couldn't score any points because my left rear tire exploded. » For Audi, the most important job is to resolve this tire problem since Martin Tomczyk, victim of a puncture, had to give up on the podium, and Mattias Ekström, well placed at the end of the race, had to pass for a third time. stand for changing excessively worn rubbers.

Until experiencing his puncture, Alexandre Prémat had had a good race, moving up to fourth position before the first pit stops. “ This problem cost me a lot of time, says the Frenchman. Without that, a podium was possible. My pace was really good and I was able to follow the race leader. I'm disappointed but at least we showed that we can be fast, whether in qualifying or in the race. »

After this promising but frustrating race, Alexandre Prémat must now turn to the next round of the DTM, which will take place on the Ricardo-Tormo circuit in Valencia. “ I can't wait but Valencia is only a month away. After this start of the season, my adrenaline is pumped up to the max! »
