Philip Ellis is definitely in good shape on the asphalt of the Lausitzring. Author of a great performance on Saturday which led him to his first DTM victory on Saturday, the Team Winward driver got off to a good start this Sunday by dominating qualifying for Race 2.
If some Mercedes-AMG GT3 had difficulty in the race, the Swiss one has not encountered any problems for the moment. He was therefore able to win his first pole of the season with a best lap completed in 1'30"292.
Runner-up to Philip Ellis in the race on Saturday, Liam Lawson (AF Corse) once again ranks behind the driver of the No. 3 Mercedes-AMG GT57. Maximilian Götz (Team HRT) completes the Top 3 in qualifying, just over 4 tenths off the reference time.
After signing the first pole of the weekend, Sheldon van der Linde (Rowe Racing) this time settled for 7th time, almost 6 tenths behind. Following him are Daniel Juncadella (GruppeM Racing) and Arjun Maini (Team GetSpeed) on their Mercedes-AMG GT3 as well as Mike Rockenfeller (Abt) with his Audi R8 LMS GT3.
