Sheldon van der Linde is definitely in good shape on the Lausitzring tarmac. Author of the best time in the second free practice session on Friday, the Rowe Racing driver hit hard in qualifying this Saturday.

Increasingly comfortable at the wheel of his BMW M6 GT3, the South African distinguished himself by outclassing neither more nor less than his big brother Kelvin (Abt) after a very close duel.

With a time of 1'30"537, Sheldon van der Linde had to hold his breath since Kelvin was only 27 thousandths slower than his younger brother during the final attempt.

Mike Rockenfeller (Abt) may also have regrets since he ranked 3rd, just over a tenth of the poleman of the day.

The first Ferrari in the ranking is in 5th place thanks to a lap in 1'30"744 from Liam Lawson (AF Corse) while his teammate Alex Albon is 7th, three tenths behind Sheldon van der Linde.
