After the Lausitzring collective tests, BMW headed to Hungary. Andy Priaulx, Augusto Farfus, Dirk Werner and Dirk Müller continued to grind the asphalt with the M3 DTM. On September 21 and 22, the four official drivers of the propeller firm took turns at the wheel of three M3s, in the hands of the three teams who will be in charge next year (Schnitzer, RBM and RMG). The bulk of the work was devoted to the tires, with various set-ups and courses and long runs.
On the first day, the three cars covered the 361 km route 4,381 times, compared to 392 times the next day. “In the current phase, every test is very important for us, underlines three-time WTCC champion Andy Priaulx. The way the car and tires interact is a particularly important factor in ensuring we are competitive. This was the key to our testing program. With each outing, we understand the car more. »
At the end of these two days of driving, one of the positive points seems to be the reliability of the car, as Augusto Farfus was able to observe. “ It?s a very good sign that the cars are so reliable so early in our preparation, explains the Brazilian. NOTWe had another very productive two days, and once again learned a lot about the car. »
Next week, the four men will cross the Atlantic towards Road Atlanta, to compete in the penultimate round of the ILMC.
