C1: Mortara wins an event marred by accidents

Edward Mortara opens his score of victories under the colors of Mercedes. Saturday afternoon, the 31-year-old Swiss won the first race of the meeting held at the Lausitzring (Germany) after an event full of incidents.

Starting from seventh place on the grid, the Venturi driver in Formula e took advantage of a better strategy at the end of the race to catch up and overtake Philipp Eng (BMW) in the last minutes of the effort. The Austrian was also overtaken by Timo Glock (BMW). “What a crazy ride!” I was lucky because the team adopted an ideal strategy.
