At the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 R n°94, Dennis Olsen parvient à convertir sa pole position en première victoire dans la catégorie DTM on the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

Rarely worried, the Norwegian must still work hard at the end of the race to resist the return of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo n°1 driven by reigning champion Maximilian Götz (Mercedes-AMG Team Winward).

Thomas Preining, who suffered a scare in the first lap by sliding in the Raidillon de l'Eau Rouge, managed to return to the front to complete the podium of this opening race in the Belgian Ardennes aboard the No. 24 Porsche of KÜS Team Bernhard.

The Austrian notably benefited from the abandonments of Laurens Vanthoor and Maro Engel in his comeback. René Rast, for his part, finished just off the podium in front of his teammate Kelvin van der Linde, Nico Müller, and Felipe Fraga

Starting 20th, Mirko Bortolotti managed to grab 8th place, ahead of Marco Wittmann and Nick Cassidy, while David Schumacher fails at the points gate in 11th position.

Despite his modest 12th place, Sheldon van der Linde, who started 22nd, retained championship controls with 110 points ahead of Rast and Bortolotti, both 93 points.

The 2nd DTM race of the Spa-Francorchamps weekend, 6th round of the 2022 season, will take place on Sunday at 13:30 p.m. It will be followed live on Automoto chain.
