Second victory for Kelvin van der Linde, Lawson down in Zolder

Kelvin van der Linde (Abt) signs his second victory of the season on the Zolder circuit. The driver of the No. 3 Audi is the first to double the lead in 2021, after his victory at Monza. He thus consolidates his lead in the championship since his runner-up, Liam Lawson (AF Corse), did not pass the first round. The Australian was involved in an accident and had to retire, losing big points in the championship.

Team Abt Sportsline even scored a double in Belgium as Mike Rockenfeller (Abt) finished in second position. The podium is completed by Alex Albon on Ferrari n°23 of AF Corse. The three drivers finished in less than two seconds under the checkered flag.

Behind, no one could keep up with the pace of the leading trio. In fourth position, we find Vincent Abril (Team HRT) on the first Mercedes 22 seconds from the race lead. The top 5 is completed by Marco Wittemann (Walkenhorst Motorsport) in the #11 BMW.

For his debut in DTM, the former pilot of F1 Christian Klien had a difficult race finishing in 12th position behind Timo Glock.

The second race of the weekend in Zolder is scheduled for this Sunday, August 8 at 13:30 p.m.
