Di Resta takes control of the DTM

If the future F1 by Paul di Resta is still uncertain, the Scot has had an exemplary run this season. Force India reserve driver, Paul di Resta was able to show his seriousness during certain free practice sessions on Friday. In DTM, the pilot Mercedes is even more impeccable: consistent at the start of the season, he has been able to raise his level of performance in recent weeks.

At Hockenheim, this Sunday, he recorded his third success of the season, the third in a row. Fifth at the start, he took the lead in the race, taking advantage of the first round of pit stops. Meanwhile, Alex Prémat (Audi) was hit in the pitlane by Jamie Green (Mercedes) and DTM leader Bruno Spengler (Mercedes) suffered suspension problems before having to retire.

At the end of the second round of stops, Paul di Resta took control of the race, flying towards a third consecutive success. In addition, the Briton benefits from the poor performance of Bruno Spengler (Mercedes), leader of the general classification until then, to take the reins.

« For me, it is a surprising victory, he commented after the race. My start was not very good. But the car was unbeatable and we were incredibly fast. I was able to catch Timo Scheider, fortunately, because finishing ahead of him was very important. I hope that I will now be able to stay in the lead, even if it remains tight between Bruno and me. But I'm full of confidence and I'm going to do my best. »

With two races remaining, Paul di Resta, thanks to these ten additional points, has 63, three ahead of Bruno Spengler (see General classification). Third with 49 points, Gary Paffett (Mercedes) maintains a slim hope of the title. One thing is certain: it is a Mercedes driver who will be titled at the end of the season.
