Second in qualifying yesterday, but not very successful in the race, Loïc duval is hungry for revenge. This morning, he once again set the second fastest time in the second qualifying session.
At the wheel of his Audi RS5 DTM n°28, the Frenchman completed a lap of the Fuji Speedway in 1'46"940, on a wet track. The winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2013 only conceded 0” to the #2 Honda NSX-GT. But with Team Mugen forced to change engines, Daisuke Nakajima received a five-place penalty on the starting grid. “ I promised my mechanics to get the car on the grid today! » said Loïc ironically.
Alongside him on the front row, the latter will see another Honda installed, the No. 64 of Team Modulo led for the occasion by the ex-pilot of F1 Narain Karthikeyan. Followed by Yaoki Yamamoto (Honda NSX-GT n°1 / Kunimitsu) and René Rast (Audi RS5 DTM n°33).
Sixth and best DTM representative yesterday, Benoît Tréluyer set the 15th fastest time. As a reminder, Frédéric Makowiecki (Nissan GT-R n°3 NDDP with B-MAX) today handed over the wheel to his teammate Kohei Hirate.
The start of race 2 of the Dream Race will be given at 6:30 a.m. French time.
