DTM – ART Grand Prix with Mercedes in 2015

Present for many years successfully in car, the French training ART Grand Prix will expand its program in 2015 with an arrival in DTM. Already present in GP2 and GP3, Frédéric Vasseur's team will be one of the three teams which will put on track the eight Mercedes AMG C-Coupé from the brand with the star. ART Grand Prix and Mercedes notably worked hand in hand in Formula 3 Euro Series in the past between 2003 and 2010, propelling drivers like the French Jules Bianchi and Romain Grosjean, German Nico Hulkenberg or the British Paul di Resta or the double world champion of F1 Lewis Hamilton.

“We have known each other with Mercedes-Benz for many years and have learned to really appreciate them as partners,
indicates Frédéric Vasseur. Being chosen by the most successful brand in DTM to become their third team fills us with immense pride. We have a real learning curve ahead of us. Nevertheless, we are looking forward to arriving at the season opener at Hockenheim and fielding a Mercedes C-Coupe on the DTM grid for the first time in the team's history. »

“We are delighted to have our long-time partner ART Grand Prix on board as a third team for the 2015 DTM season,
continues Toto wolff, boss of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport. We have had many successes in Formula 3 with them in the past. We would like to repeat these successes in the future in DTM. We have always said that we would increase the number of vehicles entered in the DTM while being certain that all the cars are well prepared. We will have three strong teams next year, HWA AG, Mücke Motorsport and ART Grand Prix, who are well placed for success in 2015 with the Mercedes AMG C-Coupés. »

However, no driver has yet been formalized for the two cars which will be fielded by the team. ART Grand Prix, which won the Drivers' vice-champion title with Stoffel Vandoorne in GP2 this season, also competed in Blancpain Endurance Series, notably with the Frenchman Alexandre Prémat, the latter having already competed in DTM between 2007 and 2010.
