DTM – Audi dreams of returning to victory at the Norisring

Audi has not won at the Norisring since 2002 with the victory of Laurent Aiello. The Ingolstadt manufacturer could have a chance to put an end to this bad series, especially with Jamie Green.

DTM – Audi dreams of returning to victory at the Norisring

Will Jamie Green be able to help Audi return to success at the Norisring? The Briton is a big contender this weekend having won four times in the last five editions when he was playing for Mercedes. The 2004 champion of the F3 Euro Series would, however, like to point out that its previous results do not constitute a guarantee. The Leicester native also had a difficult start to the season since he only scored his first top ten at the Lausitzring. “The characteristics of the Norisring cannot be compared to any other circuit. This is why it is so difficult to make predictions about the forces involved. Naturally, I have a special relationship with this race. But even if I imposed myself four times, there are no guarantees for anything and this is even more the case in DTM."

Conversely, Mike Rockenfeller had a very solid start to the season. With notably a victory at Brands Hatch and a podium at the Lausitzring, the German arrives as co-leader in the fifth event of the season, sharing first place in the Championship with BMW driver Bruno Spengler. The winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans 2010 hopes that the new features installed on the Championship cars will make it possible to change the hierarchy observed in recent years. “The Norisring is really special since it is the only urban race on the calendar. We have many spectators who keep their fingers crossed for us every year. I hope we will finally be able to meet their expectations. Mercedes has always been very strong at Nuremberg, but the cards have been redistributed this season, notably thanks to optional tires and DRS. We are not necessarily the favorites, but we will attack. »
