DTM – Audi wants to confirm at Oschersleben

Audi returned to the dance after taking the first three places at Zandvoort and the victory of Edoardo Mortara, the second of the season for the Italian who is the driver of the manufacturer with the rings best placed in the race for the title by accusing 25 points behind leader Gary Paffett. Dr Wolfgang Ullrich hopes to keep the same pace at Oschersleben as the end of the season approaches with just three more meetings on the schedule. “With our hat-trick in Zandvoort, we made good progress in the rankings. We are only five points away from Mercedes and have a good lead over BMW. If we perform as well as we did at the Nürburgring and Zandvoort, we could take the lead at Oschersleben.", comments the Audi sporting director.

Mattias Ekström will be a serious contender for victory for Audi after winning last year on the German track. The Swede is still looking for his first success this year behind the wheel of the Audi A5 DTM with which he reached the podium twice. “I enjoy the circuit and I have good memories of it. My goal for this weekend is to do as well. We still need to improve but I am convinced that we are moving in the right direction. I hope we will find an optimal set-up on Saturday and Sunday to claim victory. » However, with two victories and a podium to his credit, Edoardo Mortara is the most actively supported by Audi to overcome Gary Paffet, Jamie Green (Mercedes) and Bruno Spengler (BMW). “Oschersleben has always been successful for me so far”, explains the Italian. “I won the title there F3 in 2010 and scored my second DTM podium last year. After the Nürburgring and Zandvoort, we are optimistic and intend to achieve another top result. »
