DTM – Audi wants to tame the Lausitzring

Only twice in DTM, a Audi established itself on the Lausitzring route in Germany. The last victory dates back to 2011 when Martin Tomczyk had imposed the A4 DTM of Team Phoenix, on the way to its title that year.

Haloed with his double success at the opening of the 2015 championship in Hockenheim, with Mattias Ekström and Jamie Green, the brand with the rings will logically want to continue its momentum, and break this bad series on this track.

“There is very little gap between the competitors and we do not want to underestimate our opponents, explains Dieter Grass, DTM boss at Audi Sport. Mercedes is traditionally strong at the Lausitzring. BMW will try to come back. And we will have to add between five and ten kilos of ballast to our cars after the two victories at Hockenheim. »

Two races are now taking place during each DTM meeting this year, one of forty minutes plus one lap (without compulsory stopping), and the other of sixty minutes plus one lap, with a regulatory passage through the pit lane to change tires.
