DTM – Aufrecht looks back on the 2013 season

At the end of a 2013 season which notably visited Russia at the Moscow Raceway, the director of the German series takes a critical look at the past year, and already announces certain changes to come for the future.

“Overall, the result is positive, like the new features introduced like the DRS (movable rear wing on the model of the F1), soft tire specifications, the new race in Moscow? We have 22 cars on the grid in around eight tenths in qualifying. The show was there. »
“On the negative side, audiences are down almost 9%. It remains difficult to know where we made a mistake there.
(Editor’s note: The DTM was available live on the series' Youtube page). It will also be necessary to review the races so that the strategy is less important for victory and the battle on the track is more fierce.«

As for the 2014 season, Aufrecht does not want to reveal too early what could change. “All these things still have to go through committees. But we have already made good progress. The rules will be a little more restrictive. The fans will also always be listened to, explains the big boss of the DTM. We also analyze what is said during meetings or on forums.«

The German championship will resume on May 4, 2014 during the traditional opening round of Hockenheim.
