DTM – BMW confirms its drivers for 2017

BMW has confirmed its line-ups for the 2017 season DTM where the three manufacturers will only enter 6 drivers during its end-of-season conference organized this Friday, December 9 in Munich (Germany).

With the withdrawal of Martin Tomczyk and Antonio Félix da Costa, the Propeller manufacturer only had to keep the rest of its starters. Marco Wittmann, Bruno Spengler, Timo Glock, Tom Blomqvist, Augusto Farfus and Maxime Martin have all been confirmed.

Marco Wittmann, the reigning champion, will remain with Team RMG while Timo Glock and Augusto Farfus will join the team. Team RBM will enter Bruno Spengler, Maxime Martin and Tom Blomqvist.

“Our team selection for 2017 once again features the best the DTM has to offer, said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt. Everyone was obviously looking to take champion Marco Wittmann, but our other 5 drivers all had successes and also proved their qualities in DTM. Consistency will make us even better. »

Martin Tomczyk has been confirmed in the program IMSA of BMW along with the rest of the crews. Team MTEK was entrusted with the GTE program en WEC scheduled for 2018 while Team Schnitzer will take care of the GT programs.
