DTM-C1: Lucas Auer takes pole position at Hockenheim

After dominating free practice this morning, Lucas Auer (Mercedes) achieved the best qualifying time for the first race at Hockenheim, in 1'30″849. He is ahead of his teammates Gary Paffett by almost 193 thousandths and Edoardo Mortara by 273 thousandths. These three drivers score 3, 2 and 1 point respectively under the new regulations.

BMW's best performance came from Timo Glock (BMW Team RMG) in fourth position in 1'31″161, less than a tenth ahead of Belgian Maxime Martin (BMW Team RBM) in fifth position.

The Audis appeared to be in more difficulty with Nico Müller (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) only eighth for the best performance for the Ingolstadt brand. René Rast will start 14th while for his first qualifying session in DTM, Loïc duval (Audi Team Phoenix) finished eighteenth, 1″6 from pole. The first race will start this Saturday at 14:45 p.m.
