DTM-C2: Premiere day for António Félix da Costa

After BMW's septuplet achieved yesterday during the first DTM race on the Dutch track of Zandvoort, the propeller brand confirmed its domination this Sunday during the second race. After the outgoing champion Marco Wittmann, winner for the first time in 2015, it is the turn of António Felix da Costa to have distinguished himself today, by achieving the first success of his career in the discipline.

Author of pole position, the Portuguese driver did not miss his takeoff to take the lead at the first braking ahead of his teammate Bruno Spengler. Augusto Farfus and Marco Wittmann followed to complete a quartet of M4s during the first part of the race.

After the pit stops, Félix da Costa regained control of the event, but this time ahead of Augusto Farfus, the two men having stopped a lap later than Bruno Spengler and Marco Wittmann. The reigning champion clashed very closely with Miguel Molina (Audi) at the exit of the pits, and finally finished fifth under the checkered flag, completing a quintuple for the Munich brand with António Félix da Costa winning ahead of Farfus, Spengler and Timo Glock.

Pascal Wehrlein takes sixth place with first Mercedes C-Coupé ahead of Mattias Ekström’s Audi. Adrien Tambay (Audi) ranks 9th.
