DTM – Dani Juncadella joins Mercedes for 2013

There have been changes this winter at Mercedes, between the replacement of Norbert Haug by Toto wolff, the departures of David Coulthard, Jamie Green and Susie Wolff. For this season, the brand with the star ultimately decided to enter only six cars, and thus only replacing one of its three starts. It is on the young Spaniard Dani Juncadella that the sights have been set, who is also included in the Mercedes young driver development pipeline: “My beginnings in DTM are like a dream come true. I can't wait to be at the start of the season at Hockenheim. I will be lining up there for my first DTM start with a Mercedes C-Class. I would like to express my special thanks to Mercedes for my successes over the last few years, and for my arrival in the DTM, without whom this would not have been possible , if I had not been in the Junior program and without their support. I will now give my best to maintain the confidence placed in me. »

Mercedes has also formalized its five other drivers, already present in 2012: the Briton Gary Paffett, the German Ralf Schumacher and Christian Vietoris, the Canadian Robert Wickens and the Spaniard Roberti Merhi. Robert Kubica will therefore not compete in the next DTM season with the Stuttgart manufacturer.
