DTM – Ekström wins ahead of Tambay

Mattias Ekström concluded his season DTM by winning at the end of Race 2 on the Hungaroring. The Audi driver who will miss the final in Hockenheim (Germany) on October 15 and 16 due toa clash of dates with World RX took advantage of the battle between the two title contenders Marco Wittmann (BMW) and pole sitter Edoardo Mortara (Audi) to take the lead of the event.

The Swede then dominated the race and won with more than four seconds ahead of Adrien Tambay who scored his first podium of the season and who gave Audi the double by beating Daniel Juncadella, first driver Mercedes.

Although Marco Wittmann was only able to reach the finish line in fourth place, the German still had a good run in the Championship as he left Budapest with a lead of 26 points, his direct rival Edoardo Mortara having finished last straight away. at the start of the race. If the 2014 champion finishes ahead of his Italian-Swiss opponent in the next race at Hockenheim, he will be assured of the title.

Antonio Félix da Costa (BMW) completes the top five ahead of Tom Blomqvist (BMW), Timo Glock (BMW) and Timo Scheider (Audi). Maxime Martin (BMW) finished ninth ahead of Mike Rockenfeller (Audi).
