DTM – Ekström, Scheider, Green, Tambay? Audi displays its line-up

There will be eight of them to defend the colors of the brand with the rings in DTM this season. Audi has just formalized its contingent of drivers for this new year in the German touring championship. In terms of line-up, nothing new since the announcement made in December of the arrival of Jamie Green. The Briton left Mercedes to join the Ingolstadt team to replace the Swiss Rahel Frey, who remains with Audi but who will race this season in GT.

In addition to the “King of the Norisring”, as the new recruit is nicknamed, Audi will be able to count on two double champions in the category with Mattias Ekström and Timo Scheider. A trio of experienced drivers who will be mixed with younger ones, like Miguel Molina, 23 years old, who ultimately keeps his wheel, and the Frenchman Adrien Tambay, 21 years old. Mike Rockenfeller, Filipe Albuquerque and Edoardo Mortara complete this contingent, whose average age is 28 years old.

In total, the Audi line-up includes 4 DTM titles, 478 races, 39 pole positions and 34 victories. “I am convinced that we will present ourselves on the starting grid in 2013 with an extremely strong line-up? maybe even the strongest since Audi started competing in the DTM”, judged Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, head of Audi Motorsport.
