Often placed at Nuremberg, Swede Mattias Ekström is aiming for his first real victory on this track this weekend in DTM.

DTM – Ekström finally wants to finish at the Norisring

The 2013 edition of the Norisring meeting in DTM had smiled on track at Mattias Ekström winner as he passed the checkered flag, in the “home” event for Audi in the German touring car championship. But a disqualification for a bottle of water given to the Swedish pilot in the parc ferme had finally taken away his success.

This year, the current second in the general classification (17 points behind his teammate Jamie Green), finally wants to defeat the Indian sign on this urban circuit, he who collects the places of honor and a success but in the qualifying race in 2002 . « I have had work to complete in Nuremberg for several years. There's no doubt about it: I finally want to win at the Norisring. Especially since this year we even have two opportunities (two races being on the program during each meeting, Editor’s note). » specifies the double champion of the discipline.

For the occasion, Ekström will drive an RS5 DTM with a specific livery, paying tribute to the 25th anniversary of Audi's first victory at the Norisring with Hans-Joachim Stuck's V8 Quattro in 1990.
