DTM – Jamie Green inherits pole at Oschersleben

Bruno Spengler (BMW) had hopes of maintaining his chances in the fight for the title, but the reigning champion sees his chances dwindling at Oschersleben after losing his pole. The Canadian will have to move back five places on the grid for having used tires reserved for the last qualifying session during Q3, which is prohibited by the regulations. He is the third driver to be penalized for non-regulatory use of tires after Daniel Juncadella and Gary Paffett (Mercedes).

As a result, Jamie Green (Audi) will start in first position ahead of Augusto Farfus (BMW). As for Championship leader Mike Rockenfeller (Audi), the German also took advantage of the penalty to gain a position on the grid and find himself in third place ahead of Dirk Werner. Bruno Spengler will have to settle for sixth place between the RS5s DTM by Filipe Albuquerque and Miguel Molina.
