DTM – Lucas Auer’s first victory

Lucas Auer (Mercedes) secured his first victory in DTM by winning Race 2 at the Lausitzring where he started from pole. The Austrian retained the advantage of his position when the lights went out and gradually increased his lead to win with more than three seconds ahead of Mattias Ekström (Audi).

The Swede made a good comeback until successfully overtaking Robert Wickens (Mercedes) two laps from the finish. The Canadian thus completes the podium ahead of Jamie Green (Audi) and Gary Paffett (Mercedes) and takes the lead in the Championship, three points ahead of Marco Wittmann (BMW) who finished just outside the top five.

Maxime Martin (BMW) took 13th place. Esteban Ocon (Mercedes) finished 15th while his compatriot Adrien Tambay (Audi) arrived in 20th place.
