DTM – Lausitzring: where it all started again for BMW

All eyes will be on the BMWs at the Lausitzring. Just a year ago, it was on this circuit that the propeller brand returned to the top step of the podium. A success achieved only two races after making its return to the famous German touring championship. At the time, it was Bruno Spengler who took pole position and victory. A first step which would lead him towards the champion title at the end of the year.

This season, the Canadian and the BMWs are even more in a position of strength. Indeed, the last podium, in Austria, was taken by three cars from the Munich firm. Winner 15 days ago, Bruno Spengler returns to the Lausitzring as reigning champion, but also as leader of the Drivers ranking. “I really like this circuit. I took the first pole and first victory for BMW here last year, so I definitely have very good memories on this circuit?, relates the pilot. ?It?s a very technical track from a driver?s point of view, you have to know where to brake. I believe we will be able to overtake thanks to DRS, and our car is very good here. I am also looking forward to rediscovering the atmosphere here.”

Augusto Farfus also has beautiful images at the Lausitzring. ?It?s a very special weekend for me, since it?s here that I got my first start from the front row and my first podium. It worked for us last year, so let's hope it stays that way this season?.
