DTM – BMW drivers have fangs before Austria

With a victory and two 2nd places in two races, BMW has a rather good record before arriving this weekend in Austria. If until now Audi has consistently won at the Red Bull Ring since its return to the calendar, the Spielberg circuit arouses a lot of positive feelings among the drivers of the propeller brand. Starting with Bruno Spengler, who loves running here. “It’s definitely one of my favorite circuits”, expresses the reigning champion of the discipline. “The fans are great and the atmosphere is great. Also, I really appreciate its location in the mountains, so close to nature. The track undulates, there are big braking points and fast turns. It?s a lot of fun to drive here and I?m really looking forward to getting started! », said the Canadian.

For Dirk Werner, his first appearance in Austria at the wheel of a DTM was particularly striking. “The 2012 meeting was a turning point for me during my first season in this championship. For the first time, I had the feeling that I was capable of pushing my car to its limits. This resulted in a qualification in Q3. Unfortunately I was involved in a collision shortly after the start and I had to retire. The objective this year is clearly to finish in the points,” announces the German. Augusto Farfus will also aim for points. Winner of the first race at Hockenheim before giving up at Brands Hatch, the Brazilian had a rather complicated race last season, finally snatching 10th place after a tough battle. “This year, we arrive in much better shape. Considering how competitive BMW was at Spielberg in 2012, we should be fighting for a few more points this year! »
