DTM – Marco Wittmann before the rain

Marco Wittmann (MTEK) set the best time on the first of the last four days of pre-season testing at Hockenheim. The new BMW driver and teammate of Timo Glock signed the best performance of the day in the dry in the morning in 1:33:023 having fitted the new Hankook soft tires, new this season.

In changing conditions which saw the appearance of rain in the afternoon, the rookie?s performance quickly proved out of reach. Behind the leader of the day we find one of his teammates at BMW: Martin Tomczyk (RMG). The 2011 category champion finished 0 behind the best time in 414. Gary Paffett (HWA) completes the top 1 aboard his Mercedes in 1?33??890.

Note that the first Audi is in seventh place, with Mike Rockenfeller (Phoenix) in 1:34:805.
