DTM – Marco Wittmann, champion made in BMW

Yesterday in Germany, the DTM crowned its new king in the person of Marco Wittmann. At 24, the BMW Team RMG driver becomes the youngest champion under the banner of the propeller that has been with him since his beginnings. Came from karting, Wittmann very quickly switched to car in Formula BMW. After logically passing into F3 Euro Series, it was towards GT that he turned after 2011 while becoming a DTM development driver. In 2013, a starting seat awaits him and the German immediately confirms his talent with the title of best rookie.

2014 marks the advent of Wittmann. From the opening of the season at Hockenheim, he imposed the new BMW M4. Three other victories later and a sixth place yesterday at the Lausitzring, here he is titled even before the last two races at Zandvoort in the Netherlands and the Hockenheim final on October 19. “It’s difficult to describe my emotions. When you have been involved in motor racing for many years, achieving your goal is an incredible feeling. I always wanted to drive in DTM. Now I am champion. It's fantastic. » Wittmann explained.
