DTM – Paffett: Oschersleben is tough on cars

After dominating the start of the season, Gary Paffett has not been on the podium since his third place in the Red Bull Ring on June 3. However, the Briton has already distinguished himself twice on the Oschersleben circuit in 2005 and 2007 and will try to get back into good shape to finish the year in style.

« The circuit is tough for the cars and the drivers, Paffett explains. Its characteristics are similar to those of Zandvoort, there aren't really any straight lines where you can relax and the curbs are very high, but you have to use them to do a good trick. My car was fast at Zandvoort and, by avoiding accidents, we can aim for a good result at Oschersleben. Last year there was rain, but we will have to wait and see what the conditions will be this weekend. »

Fourth at Zandvoort, Jamie Green regained his place as runner-up behind his teammate Gray Paffett in the general classification, a position he will try to confirm this weekend. “ We did our best at Zandvoort and I am second in the championship behind Gary with three races left in the season, recalls Green. In the past, I have twice finished on the third step of the podium at Oschersleben and I would like to repeat this performance this weekend, and why not get my first victory on this circuit. As is often the case, performances will be really important at Oschersleben. With Gary, we proved at Zandvoort that it is possible to move up the hierarchy if the pace in the race is good. »
