DTM – Rockenfeller returns to victory at Brands Hatch

Mike Rockenfeller retained the advantage of his pole won on the green carpet following the disqualification of Martin Tomczyk and thus offer the first victory of the season for Audi. The Canadian took advantage of the penalty imposed on Gary Paffett (Mercedes) for not having respected the yellow flags. The Euronics Mercedes driver had to settle for sixth place behind the BMWs of Marco Wittmann, who scored his best result in the discipline, and Joey Hand. The local driver nevertheless carried out a good strategy by starting from 11th position before stopping on the fourth lap to put on the soft tires. Mattias Ekström (Audi) took seventh place ahead of Christian Vietoris (Mercedes), Timo Scheider (Audi) and Pascal Wehrlein (Mercedes).

Timo Glock (BMW) continued his learning of the discipline by taking 13th position behind Miguel Molina (Audi) and Dirk Werner (BMW). Martin Tomczyk (BMW) ranks 14th after starting from the back of the grid. Adrien Tambay (Audi) only took 18th place after receiving a drive-through for sending Andy Priaulx (BMW) into a spin.
