DTM – Rockenfeller: One more step towards the title at Oschersleben?

With only three races remaining in DTM this season, Mike Rockenfeller is firmly established at the head of the Championship since he has a 35-point lead over his rival Christian Vietoris who is still racing for his first victory. After Audi chose to bet everything on the German, the latter must not disappoint this weekend at Oschersleben, a track on which he won his first podium in the discipline.

“Oschersleben is very demanding in terms of driving and it is also very hard on the car”, comments Mike Rockenfeller. “I have always appreciated this route. We are working to achieve another good result by starting the weekend with good settings. I can't wait to compete in the race and see our level of competitiveness. » The Championship leader will aim for an eighth consecutive finish in the points like his opponent Christian Vietoris. The two drivers leading the Championship are the only ones to have won points in each event contested this year.

After a difficult start to the season with five events finished outside the top ten, Adrien Tambay is convincing with two consecutive points finishes (fourth in Moscow and sixth at the Nürburgring). The Frenchman finds himself in third position among Audi drivers in Mattias Ekström's 18-unit Championship. “Oschersleben is a beautiful circuit. I was a little unlucky in the race last year and I hope it will be a little different this time. My goal will be to get into the points again. »
