DTM – Spengler ahead of Paffett at Oschersleben

The Oschersleben race promises to be interesting in the battle for the title since the top three in the Championship will start from the first three places on the grid. Bruno Spenler places his BMW M3 DTM on pole thanks to a time of 1'20"916 which allows him to beat Championship leader Gary Paffett by less than a tenth on the front row. The pilot Mercedes missed the top five in the last two events and will plan to bounce back by aiming for a third victory this season which would allow him to dig out the hole in the Championship.

However, the Briton will have to be wary of his compatriot Jamie Green who will start just behind him. The leader's rival is 16 points behind his teammate and is only two points ahead of the pole-sitter. Dirk Werner (BMW) and Mattias Ekström (Audi) complete the top five ahead of Martin Tomczyk (BMW) and Edoardo Mortara (Audi). Frenchman Adrien Tambay (Audi) will start from 17th place.
