DTM - Stability in Audi teams for 2018

Audi Sport has confirmed the distribution of its drivers among the three teams fielding the RS 5 in the DTM. Stability will be essential with the only replacement of Mattias Ekström by Robin Frijns at Team Abt.

Audi Sport will not shake up its lines in 2018 in DTM. The brand with the rings, big winner of the previous season, notably with the Pilots of Rene Rast for its first season in the discipline, confirmed this Saturday the distribution of its six official drivers among the three teams Abt, Phoenix and Rosberg.

The outgoing champion Rast will continue with Team Rosberg, associated with Jamie green. René Rast also indicated that he would like to keep the No. 33 that he wore last year, instead of the No. 1 given to the title holder. The DTM commission will have to decide on this choice.

Team Phoenix will welcome the tandem again Mike Rockenfeller – Loïc duval. The Frenchman made his debut in German tourism last year.

The only change from 2017 concerns Team Abt, where Mattias Ekström has decided to focus on World RX. The Swede will be replaced by the Dutchman Robin Frijns, which will evolve alongside Nico Müller.
