DTM: Tambay at the forefront in Valencia

All the new cars are not yet ready from the three manufacturers involved in this DTM new look. Particularly at Audi where the eight drivers of the 2012 squad had to share four of the new A5s on the Ricardo Tormo circuit. In total, 11 cars were present during these four days of testing.

For Adrien Tambay, who for the occasion was driving the No. 2 normally intended for the experienced Mattias Ekström, it was Thursday and Friday that he was able to drive alternately, for short or long series. On Thursday, he was able to complete 120 laps, also including practice starts, and he ended the day with the 3rd fastest time (1'29) behind two other Audi drivers, Timo Scheider (009'1) and Miguel Molina (28'725?1). Behind Tambay we noted in order Albuquerque (Audi), Spengler (BMW), Wickens (Mercedes), Green (Mercedes), Priaulx (BMW), Tomczyk (BMW), Susie Wolff (Mercedes) and Paffett (Mercedes).

Friday, Adrien was again very comfortable since he remained at the top of the hierarchy for the day with 1'28?860, this time ahead of Scheider (1'28?932), Rockenfeller (Audi, 1' 29?126). Next come Green, Mortara (Audi), Wickens, Farfus (BMW) and Werner (BMW), Paffett, and Hand (BMW). After this great contact with the A5 of its latest recruit, we can bet that the Ingolstadt manufacturer will do everything possible to assemble its car as soon as possible, which initially was not sure of being ready for the first round of the April 27.29. The next and final collective tests are scheduled from April 2 to 5 at Hockenheim, as a dress rehearsal before the launch of the championship on this same circuit.
