DTM – Timo Glock finishes with victory at Hockenheim

Timo Glock scored his first victory in DTM at the end of the last race of the season at Hockenheim. The event contested in changing conditions had started badly for the BMW Team MTEK driver who clashed with Augusto Farfus (BMW Team RBM), but the former Marussia driver F1 Team was able to return to second position after gaining the advantage over Dirk Werner (BMW Team Schnitzer) and Andy Priaulx (BMW Team RMG). The German remained in second place by extending his first stint and took the lead of the race at the expense of Roberto Merhi (Thomas Sabo Mercedes AMG).

The Spaniard made a superb comeback from the back of the grid despite a penalty received at the start of the event and took control following contact between Daniel Juncadella (stern AMG Mercedes) and Mattias Ekström (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) , the Hispanic driver having received a drive-through for having sent the Swede into a spin. The Mercedes driver was caught by Timo Glock after keeping his wet tires on for too long, but his second place still represents his best result in the discipline. Bruno Spengler (BMW Team Schnitzer) completes the podium after starting from pole. Mattias Ekström finished just off the podium ahead of Miguel Molina who contributed to the title won by Team Phoenix, with champion Mike Rockenfeller failing out of the points for the only time this season. Adrien Tambay (Audi Sport Team Abt) finished 14th after being relegated to the back of the pack at the start of the race after spinning.
