DTM – Tomczyk disqualified, Rockenfeller on pole

Martin Tomczyk gave BMW the first pole of the season at Brands Hatch, but the 2011 champion will ultimately start from the back of the grid after being disqualified. The BMW M3 DTM of the German was controlled with a weight lower than the limit authorized by the technical regulations of the discipline. Mike Rockenfeller thus inherits first place which represents the second consecutive pole for Audi after that won by Timo Scheider at Hockenheim.

The driver from the Ingolstadt manufacturer, who will also take part in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, will start from pole for the second time in his career at Brands Hatch after a first place in 2011. Augusto Farfus climbs to the front row with his M3 DTM, then that the BMWs of Joey Hand and Bruno Spengler now complete the second row. The first one Mercedes, the C AMG Coupé of Gary Paffett, climbs to 11th place. Adrien Tambay (Audi) will start from 15th place.
