DTM – Vietoris and Mercedes lead tests in Hungary

After improving the reference time during the third day of testing of the DTM at Hungaroring, Christian Vietoris further improved his performance by completing a lap in 1'37"620, only two hundredths ahead of his closest opponent Augusto Farfus. BMW was at the forefront yesterday since the Brazilian was followed less than a tenth by the M4 DTM of Maxime Martin. “We can be quite satisfied with what we achieved at the Hungaroring tests”, comments the first of the BMW drivers. “We didn't encounter any major problems with our cars and we were able to complete many laps at a good pace. Speed ​​is not yet a priority at this stage in the season. It is more important to prepare for any opportunity. »

After dominating the first tests in Hungary, Audi kept the pace at the end of the session as two RS 5 DTMs completed the top five on the final day with Edoardo Mortara ahead of reigning champion Mike Rockenfeller. “We carried out some good tests”, confirms the Italian. « We were able to complete the program and finish everything we had planned to do. We learned a lot of things that could be useful during the season. We now have to analyze everything and prepare for the next session at Hockenheim. »
