DTM – Wickens takes pole at the Norisring

After a difficult start to the season, the Mercedes unsurprisingly find competitiveness on the urban circuit of Norisring (Germany) where they are used to excelling. Robert Wickens took pole with a lap completed in 47 seconds, ahead of Paul di Resta by less than a tenth, who secures the first row for the Stuttgart manufacturer. The star-studded cars are at the forefront since Pascal Wehrlein moved up to the second row ahead of Gary Paffet and Christian Vietoris.

This result would be ideal for Mercedes if Jamie Green had not placed his Audi third. The Ingolstadt brand still being conquering his first victory at the Norisring since Laurent Aïello's victory in 2002, the resident of Team Rosberg can be sure that he will have all the support of the manufacturer in the rings to get first place. The second RS 5 DTM will only start from seventh position with Mattias Ekström who will be ahead of Marco Wittmann, the first BMW only occupying eighth place on the grid with the Championship leader. Adrien Tambay follows in tenth position ahead of Nico Müller and the M4 DTM of Maxime Martin.
