DTM – Wittmann takes a BMW quadruple

Marco Wittmann dominated Race 2 of the DTM in Moscow (Russia) where he started from pole. The German won with a lead of four seconds over Tom Blomqvist, while Bruno Spengler completed the podium. Augusto Farfus, for his part, offered BMW a quadruple despite the weight handicap of the M4 DTM.

Robert Wickens (Mercedes), the winner of Race 1, found himself fighting for second place at the start of the race. But the Canadian fell in the standings after encountering behavioral problems with his car and had to settle for fifth place and leaves the Championship lead again to Marco Wittmann with a 12-point gap.

The Mercedes beat a group of Audi drivers consisting of Edoardo Mortara, Nico Müller, Adrien Tambay and Mattias Ekström. The Italian distinguished himself by gaining no less than 11 places in the peloton. Lucas Auer (Mercedes) completed the top ten.

Starting from the pits following an infraction in the parc ferme, Maxime Martin (BMW) was only able to take 17th place even though he had taken third position on the grid. Felix Rosenqvist (Mercedes) finished 21st behind Paul di Resta (Mercedes), but the former Force India driver was penalized three places for his contact with Timo Glock (BMW) who retired.
