Ekström and Audi shine, Spengler depressed

Mattias Ekström signs his second victory of the season after that won at the Nürburgring. The Swede perfectly mastered the race, taking advantage of the misfortunes of the competition and was the fastest on the wet track of Oschersleben since he was not worried by a possible return of the competition.

But the real winner of the weekend remains Martin Tomczyk (Audi), who could not have dreamed of a better result by taking second place while his rival for the title Bruno Spengler (Mercedes) gave up a few laps from the goal due to a mechanical problem. The German now has a 9-point lead over the Canadian with two races remaining in the season.

Edoardo Mortara put in a very good performance by signing his second podium in two races. After taking third place at Brands Hatch, the Franco-Italian shines again in the rain. The Audi driver could claim second position but the team instructions favored the Championship leader, although he was slower than his teammate.

Gary Paffett saves the furniture at Mercedes by failing at the foot of the podium. The 2005 champion is ahead of Christian Vietoris (Mercedes) and Mike Rockenfeller (Audi) on the finish line.
