Mattias Ekström, by winning in Valencia, allowed Audi to return to the top of the bill. After the disappointment at Hockenheim, the firm with the rings regained its footing and moved in the right direction. However, the score written in Spain was not free of false notes, since Martin Tomczyk, second at the end of the race, was excluded from the final classification because his team had given him tires not intended for this race. But, despite this incident, it is with newfound confidence that Audi is approaching this return to Germany.
This Friday, Audi ideally started its weekend. Mike Rockenfeller, in 1:19:770, set the best time in the first free practice session at EuroSpeedway in Lausitz. His teammate, Alexandre Prémat, finished in fourth place, in 1:20??080, while Timo Scheider, also an Audi driver, set the second time (1:19??880).
