Jamie Green aims for title with Audi RS5 DTM

Audi had chosen its new recruit Jamie Green to present the new RS5 at the Geneva Motor Show DTM. The Leicester native left Mercedes with whom he had played eight seasons in the discipline to join the Ingolstadt manufacturer after achieving his best performance by taking third place in the Championship last year. “I had my first impressions of the car at the Valencia test and my first feelings were very positive”, commented Jamie Green. “We tested a lot of things to optimize the car. It's very interesting for me to follow the development work. Audi Sport is working hard to improve the performance of the RS5 DTM within the current constraints. »

The Briton will join double champion Mattias Ekström in the Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline and has high ambitions despite the Audi A5 DTM's lackluster last season. “I think we will be a good combination even though we were rivals in the past. I've had a lot of teammates in my career. I have known Mattias since 2004 when I won the Championship F3 Euro Series. We are the same age (30 years old), the same mentality, an identical level of experience and want to pool our experiences in the best possible way to bring further success to the team and Audi. Maybe I'll learn a little from a two-time DTM champion. Winning the title is my main goal. Even if Audi did not have results corresponding to its expectations in 2012, I approach this new season without fear. »
