The organizers of DTM have confirmed the change in format of the discipline for 2015. The next season will feature a total of 18 races spread over 9 meetings, with one start on Saturday and a second on Sunday. The calendar will remain essentially the same even if the order of the events will be modified compared to this year.
ITR, the company which manages the rights to the German discipline, did not provide further details. The new qualifying format therefore remains unknown, but a reverse grid could be applied to the extent that the meeting program will be very dense since it will also include support races such as the F3 European Championship, la Porsche Carrera Cup allemande, ou l’Audi TT Sports Club. Hans Werner, le président d’ITR, a justifié cette décision.
“We know that the public is in favor of a second race on the weekend because each additional minute of racing offers more interest. We will provide details in the coming weeks. »
