DTM will return to China and Hungary

Le DTM will return next year to Hungary and China after several seasons of absence. The organizers kept a season of ten events and therefore chose to remove the Brands Hatch and Zandvoort meetings, leaving six races in Germany.

The German discipline will make its third appearance in China after those made in 2004 and 2010 in Shanghai and won by Gary Paffett. “The Chinese market is one of the largest in the world and it means a lot to our manufacturers. The passion of our partners is also extraordinary”, commented Hans Werner Aufrecht, the owner and promoter of the discipline.

As for the return of the discipline to Budapest, it will be a first since 1988 when Johnny Cecotto, former motorcycle world champion and former pilot of F1 (18 Grand Prix starts), won in the two races contested. “We look forward to returning to Hungary 26 years after our last visit”, adds the director of the ITR company responsible for DTM. “This F1 circuit offers the highest standards in Eastern Europe. »
