The organizers of the German DTM have confirmed the arrival of Monza on the 2020 calendar.

DTM heads to Monza in 2020

In the immediate wake of the confirmation of the extension of the contract between F1 and the Monza Autodrome for the next five years, the Lombard circuit has been officially integrated into the 2020 calendar of DTM German, a great first for the legendary trans trackalpine.

The German championship is no stranger to Italian resorts, with visits to Mugello in the mid-90s before moving to the Adria circuit in the 2000s and then to Misano in the last two seasons, with races at night.

“For our three brands – Aston Martin, Audi and BMW – Italy is an extremely important market, recalls the director of promoter ITR Achim Kostron. We thank everyone at Misano for being a fantastic partner in the DTM's return to Italy over the past two years.

For our next step, we want to progress the DTM in Italy; Racing on the most famous circuit in the country, combined with the metropolitan area of ​​Milan, will help us achieve this goal. »

Monza welcomes in addition to F1, a good number of single-seater events, theEndurance with theELMS or the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, not to mention national championships like the Italian GT.

The exact date of the Monza round for the 2020 DTM calendar remains to be determined, with the latter due to be revealed next month.
