2019 will see the V8 blocks replaced in DTM by new engines based on a 2,0-liter four-cylinder architecture, as required by the new technical regulations, developed around the famous Class 1 (created in connection with the Super GT), which will come into force next year in the German Touring Car Championship.
Bmw motorsport debuted its M4 modified for the occasion a few days ago near its workshops. The firm has notably modified the air intakes of its M4, the intake and exhaust also being revised and corrected for the occasion. The power developed will thus be greater without Munich giving concrete figures for the moment.

The Canadian Bruno Spengler made the first laps of the M4 equipped with this 2,0 liter turbo unit, before a first test session, organized by the promoter ITR, took place at Estoril in Portugal from 11 to November 14th.
"You can feel the extra power, admits Spengler. This will provide even more spectacle for fans in 2019. The time spent at full throttle is reduced, but the top speed is higher than before. We will have to work even harder behind the wheel. »
BMW and Audi will be joined next year by R-Motorsport which will operate the license Aston Martin to field Vantages in the overseas series.
