The organizers of DTM brought new features for the tests held this week in Barcelona. The teams were able to test new option tires and a new DRS system similar to that seen in F1. If the drivers insist on the fact that the reduction in aero drag will not be as effective as in F1, the first feedback is still positive at the end of the four days of testing carried out on the Catalunya circuit.
A driver will receive a signal to activate his DRS when he is within two seconds of the car in front of him. The system can then be activated once in the next round. The rear wing will then be inclined by 15% thanks to a pneumatic system and should increase the maximum speed by 5 to 7km/h. The rear wing will immediately return to the normal position when the driver begins braking for obvious safety reasons. The use of DRS will be clearly visible since the side fins of the rear wing will also tilt.
