Loïc Duval on pole at Assen

Loic duval finally launched? The French driver took pole in the first qualifying session of the weekend at Assen. He is 34 thousandths ahead of Robin Frijns, then Nico Muller, the championship leader, and the surprising Ferdinand Habsburg of Team WRT. The Belgian team achieves its best qualifying result of the season.

Duval was present in the leading quartet which dominated the free practice sessions since the start of the weekend. This predicted a good session, but he found himself fourth at the end of the first run, behind the three drivers fighting for the title, Frijns, Müller and Rast.

In the final burst of fast laps, Duval chose to restart almost first. Good luck to him since he was one of the only ones to improve.

This pole could do a world of good for the confidence of Loic Duval, who has experienced a lot of difficulties since the start of the season, particularly in qualifying. Despite the overall domination of the Audis, who scored a sextuplet during these qualifications, the Frenchman is in 8th place in the championship, with a podium to his credit.

Race 1 can be followed from 13:30 p.m.
